You won’t typically see it on the label because the FDA doesn’t require manufacturers to list these processing aids.

HFCS-90:
- this toxic preservative is a variation of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS).
And according to a long-term study at Princeton University, HFCS increases obesity substantially.
You need to watch out, because this is sometimes listed under the names “fructose” or “fructose syrup”, which are terms that can be associated with natural sugars from fruit.
But you should know that this is one of the driving forces that contributes to high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, diabetes, and cancer.

Neosugar:
- This is a highly processed form of sugar which cannot be processed by the human digestive tract.
Neosugar is sometimes listed under highly deceptive, healthier sounding names, such as “Nutraflora” or “Fructan.”
According to Cornucopia Institute, food manufacturers sneakily market it as a “natural dietary fiber” because it supposedly feeds the good microorganisms in your digestive tract.

Fake Digestive Food #2: Pickles
Usually fermented foods, like homemade pickles, help boost the good bacteria inside your digestive tract.
In other words, they help you digest foods much easier.
However, most commercial pickles block your digestive system from running normally.
Take a look at America’s favorite pickle brand:


The ingredients that pop up on the label are basically screaming “POISON”
And here’s why
Raw vinegar is usually great at boosting your gut health.
However, boiled and distilled vinegar kills all the beneficial bacteria inside the pickles, which makes it a dead food.
So you get no actual benefit from eating them.
But you do get to consume toxic, even flammable substances in the process.
Take a look at polysorbate 80, or the yellow 5 ingredient.
The first one is highly flammable and it’s hazardous in case of skin contact, of eye contact, of ingestion, or inhalation.

The second one is an artificial coloring which triggers serious allergic reactions and hyperactivity in children.
Both Polysorbate 80 and yellow 5 are actually poisons for your body, which wipe out the gut flora that’s keeping you healthy.
Think of your gut as a rainforest that you can easily destroy once you ingest all of these chemical additives.
Now, before moving on to fake digestive food #3, I want to tell you about a little treat that my wife and I enjoy every evening: dark chocolate.
A study published in the British Medical Journal observed that a daily dose of dark chocolate can reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in people with metabolic syndrome.

But there’s more
While sugar filled candy is not good for you since it actually triggers your digestive problems, dark chocolate is actually a highly beneficial superfood that supports your gut flora
When researchers down at the Louisiana State University tested the effects of dark chocolate on stomach bacteria, the results left them speechless.
Because they were convinced that the bad bacteria in your gut thrives on dark chocolate.
The results, however proved quite the opposite

Modern media has made a habit out of promoting wheat as a healthy ingredient, working towards improving your good digestion process.

But did you know that whole wheat is also chockfull of sugar?
In fact, eating two slices of whole wheat bread could spike your blood sugar levels more than if you'd eat a chocolate bar with caramel and nuts!
